The Government of Moscow continues to expand the implementation of domestic digital technologies in urban transport. Now passengers will be able to pay using biometrics on all lines of Aeroexpress – airport rail link of the city.
Two turnstiles in the Aeroexpress terminals at Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports are connected to the system. Earlier this method of payment has already appeared in Sheremetyevo airport.
We see the popularity of the Russian biometric payment system growing, so we have connected another mode of transport to it. Now the service operates on all Aeroexpress train lines. More than 320,000 users have already registered in the system and they have made more than 60 million rides. We expect that by the end of the year about 500 thousand people will use it, - said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
He added that the service has a bank security level, with no outside interference. Other payment methods will also continue to work, and the choice is always left to the passenger.
We continue to expand the implementation of domestic digital technologies in urban transport in accordance with the task set by Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, - said Maksim Liksutov.
Now everyone who already uses biometric payments in the metro and the MCC will be able to use it in Aeroexpress terminals without additional registration. The service is available only for trips in standard class. On the Domodedovo and Vnukovo directions, the biometric payment system is only available from and to Paveletskiy and Kievskiy railway stations respectively.
